Yesterday Is Over

“Yesterday is over,” I heard the Holy Spirit of God speak to my heart. “Begin anew.”

Very early morning. Walking special needs ministry dog Grace. Paralyzed ministry dog Miss Mercy was snuggled up on their big dog bed inside. Mercy and Grace.

The day before God had given me so much MERCY and GRACE. I had failed miserably in following the Lord Jesus Christ. Fallen big and hard into old sin. It had been awful. Ugh.

But when I had turned to the Lord for forgiveness, He mercifully and graciously forgave me.

One day later, however, I sought God’s forgiveness again.

The Lord reminded me He had already forgiven me! And He had given me a new day with a fresh start!

God didn’t want my “I’m so sorry, God” again. He wanted me to go forward leaving the sin behind and doing what is right in His eyes.

Friend, let us not look back at the sin God has already forgiven. Let us look upward to Jesus and go forward in His marvelous and magnificent love, mercy, and grace. Amen!

“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NKJV

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1 NKJV
