YOUR GREATEST CHEERLEADER……We all need cheerleaders in life, don’t you think? I sure do. We need to be loved, encouraged, helped, and supported along this life’s journey, wouldn’t you agree? Especially when we’re facing big challenges, am I right? So who is your greatest cheerleader?
I used to go running to the world, scrambling around from person to person, in desperate search of someone to help me when I faced trials. And I have faced, and continue to face, many trials in my life. But something has changed.
My greatest cheerleader is the Lord. As much as I still seek, find, and am thankful for people who love and encourage me, there is no love, mercy, grace, hope, joy, peace, comfort, wisdom, and encouragement like what we find in the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible.
Do you spend time alone with Jesus and the Bible each and every day? Do you pray to the Lord and praise Him and listen for His voice and yield to His Spirit as He leads you through life day by day? Oh, well we should! May He be our greatest encouragement. Our greatest cheerleader. Our number one. Our first love! For always!
The KJV Bible version says David “encouraged himself” in people? No. In God almighty! The NKJV Bible says he “strengthened himself” in God.
Oh, Father, how weary I get from the trials of this life, from the devil attacking me, from the devil tempting me, from your tests, from the way people treat me at times, from life’s challenges. But oh, Lord, what rest and refreshing I find when I come to you. What peace and joy when I take time away from my challenges and spend time with you. When I turn to your Word. Lord, please, my Father, help each and every person reading this to make a wholesale commitment to come into your presence daily, with the Bible open in their hearts and lives, seeking and finding you and your magnificent love and all you have for them – encouragement included. Thank you, dear Lord, AMEN!
