Your Secret Sin

Some sin everybody seems to know about. Seems the whole world can see it. Especially those closest to us. Ugh. Who wants to have our sin seen? Sin is sin, and lots and lots of sin in this world is visible to any and all. But sometimes we have sin in our lives that is unseen. Secret sin. We hold onto it for dear life in the dark in an all-out effort for nobody to see.

We go to any lengths to make sure nobody finds out. All the while the guilt and shame eat away at us to no end. We work exceedingly hard to keep up appearances in front of everyone. But there in the darkness where sin resides we desperately hold on for dear life to our wrongdoing. As we spiral downward into the ugly dark morass of ungodliness. Figuring there is no possible way out. Oh, but there is a way!

Whether you struggle with pornography, adultery, self-mutilation, drugs, alcohol, prostitution, homosexuality, gambling, overspending, bingeing and purging, whatever it may be, you don’t need to stay in the darkness any longer!

Jesus Christ is Lord! He is the way, the truth, and the life! He is the only way to a relationship with God the Father and heaven forever instead of hell! God’s love is never-ending! His mercy goes on forever! God can set us free from anything and everything when we turn to Him!

Confess Jesus as Lord. Believe He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. Turn from your sins to the lordship and rule and reign of Jesus in your life. Cry out to God in prayer to forgive you and to set you free from your secret sin and all other sin. Ask believers in Jesus to help you, support you, to pray for and encourage you.

Stop holding onto your secret sin for dear life in the darkness! Come into the light and hold onto Jesus for dear life! Forevermore! Amen!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”” John 3:16-21 NKJV

“Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:34-36 NKJV
