I Feel Like a Wilted Flower

0

“I feel like a wilted flower,” I told the Lord.

Albeit I had a tiny smile in my heart because I had just received a little burst of encouragement from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Without going into unnecessary detail, I was totally wiped out. Just like flowers and plants need water and sunshine and tender loving care or they wilt and ultimately die, we need Jesus to keep us alive and help us to blossom and thrive.

One of the greatest blessings from Jesus I have discovered is loving encouragement.

Oh, sure, all of us are commanded to love each other and are called to encourage one another.

But there is no love like the love of Jesus and no encouragement as wonderful and replenishing as His.

Did you know King David in the Bible found encouragement in the Lord?

Friend, spend time alone with Jesus daily. Reading the Bible, praying to God, praising and worshiping Him, seeking and hearing Him, singing to Him, enjoying Him, seeking forgiveness when you need it, loving Jesus and being loved by Him.

Find encouragement in Jesus.

Whether you feel like a wilted flower as I did, or whether you feel perfectly fine, no matter how you feel, no matter your circumstances, be sure to make Jesus and time with Him your highest priority each and every day!

“Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened [ENCOURAGED in the KJV version of the Bible] himself in the LORD his God.” 1 Samuel 30:6 NKJV
