Once someone helped me who kept a big distance from me as far as the person’s heart was concerned. The person labored hard to help but was cold, curt, brusque, and lacking love toward me. When I reached out, the person showed no friendliness nor desire for fellowship. The person kept a wall between us but worked hard to serve. I was thankful for the help but the lack of love hurt dearly. I felt unloved, demeaned, and pretty worthless. One day a strong message came to mind.
We are all called to love and serve the Lord, but sometimes we can get caught up in the doing and lack the loving. If I was hurt by someone helping but refusing love and fellowship, how must the Lord feel when we physically serve Him but show no interest in loving Him and spending time alone in fellowship with Him?
Let us love AND serve the Lord with ALL our hearts, hallelujah, AMEN!
“”And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the LORD and His statutes which I command you today for your good?”
