Are You “Moved with Compassion”?

0

I love how Jesus in His time on earth was described not merely as being compassionate but as being “moved with compassion.” He didn’t merely feel love, mercy, kindness, care, concern, and sorrow etc. for people in need. He was “moved with compassion” whereby He ACTED on His compassion to help others.

In obeying God’s greatest commands to love Him with all our hearts and to love one another, we, too, should be “moved with compassion”.

It is one thing for our hearts to be filled with love, mercy, kindness, care, concern, and sorrow etc. for those in need as well our hearts should be. But along with this, we should be “moved with compassion” whereby we seek and fulfill the Lord’s will in loving, helping, giving to, sharing with, supporting, praying for, encouraging, etc. a world in need.

A compassionate heart is evidenced by such things as crying tears over people’s suffering, pitying people who are hurting, grieving when others grieve, being heartbroken when people go through unimaginable tragedies, feeling deeply sad over people devastated by natural disasters, hurting when people hurt, truly and deeply caring about people and their needs, etc.

But let us not merely have compassionate hearts for people all around this world who hurt, suffer, hunger, are broken, are sick, dying, disabled, who are grieving, lonely, facing unbelievable trials and tribulations, etc. Let us be “moved with compassion”! Let us be moved to ACTION.

Let us pray to the Lord, let us wait on the Lord, let us hear the Lord by His Holy Spirit who lives inside His followers speaking to our hearts, and let us ACT with love and compassion as He so leads us.

Are you “moved with compassion”? Oh, may it be so! And may we not take the credit and glory for our acts of compassion. May we take the opportunities God gives us to love and serve others with compassion to GIVE GOD THE GLORY! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Amen!

“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.” Matthew 9:36

“And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.” Matthew 14:14

“Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”” Mark 1:41

“And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.” Mark 6:34

Please be greatly encouraged reading these incredibly beautiful and powerful words from the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ concerning acting with love and compassion toward those in need!

“Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’” Matthew 25:34-40 NKJV
