Being Thankful
Have you ever expressed being thankful to someone even though in your heart you didn’t feel thankful? In other words, have you felt obligated to say thank you to be polite but were anything but thankful inside of you? Like you just wanted to get the “thank you” over with and move on with your life? Whether or not that person could tell you weren’t really thankful is not what this message is about. It’s about you and me and God.
God sees inside our hearts. He knows us inside and out. He knows every one of our thoughts and knows our feelings, too. When God looks inside your heart, does He see Thanksgiving? Does He see a thankful person? Is Thanksgiving part of your way of life? Don’t you think this matters to God? Oh, I believe it must matter so very greatly. I want God to look inside my heart and to see love, joy, and Thanksgiving on an ongoing basis. And I want Him to lead me to repentance when my heart is all wrong. How about you?
“I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins [per Strong’s concordance also “mind”], even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:10 KJV
