Little did I know when I finally took the plunge and did a massive spring cleaning of my life that this was but the beginning of what would – and should – become a lifelong practice for all of us of seeking to live for the Lord, to please the Lord, to love and serve the Lord, and to bring glory to the Lord in all that we say, think and do.
Not too long ago, I had the opportunity to share with someone that I was concerned about something she was doing that I believed would be displeasing to the Lord. Rather than be offended by my words as I had been by the woman who had tried to help me years ago, this woman told me she would rather be corrected now than suffer the consequences later. She went immediately to the Lord to seek His will in the matter and subsequently repented of what she had been doing. What an incredible inspiration this woman was to me, a reminder that for us all that we have a responsibility to keep our hearts and lives pure and clean for the Lord.
Do you take the time regularly to ensure that all in your life is pleasing to the Lord? Are you willing to repent of that which is not?
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exo 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
