Cloned Christians

When I realized several women attending the same Christian fellowship were praying just like one another, and in a bit of an unusual not-so-typical way, I didn’t think too much of it. But not long afterward this message came to me – about cloned Christians.

Let’s be careful, friend. We’re not to be cloned Christians. We’re not to grow in each other’s image and look, sound, and be like every other Jesus follower. We’re to grow in God’s image. And God created each of us uniquely to love and worship Him with all our hearts not all with the exact same gifts, talents, callings, singing voices, etc. but as He created each of us individually to be as His blessed children and servants.

Friend, we were created in God’s image. We are not to grow in the image of those who do not believe in Jesus as Lord nor are we to grow in the image of those who do believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.  We are to grow in His.

When we turn from our sins, believe Jesus Christ is Lord and in His death and resurrection, truly turning our hearts and lives over to God and His ways, we are born again spiritually, forgiven our sins, promised a forever relationship with the Lord, and indwelt by God’s Holy Spirit.

Just like a human baby grows, once we are born again spiritually in receiving Jesus as Lord, we need to grow. In the image of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen!

In loving the Lord with all our hearts, let us be the men and women of God He created us to be. Humbly, wholly, blessedly, and joyfully HIS!

Oh, Father, I am reminded as a little girl how I always thought I was supposed to dress, act, and be like a popular girl I thought was my best friend. She really wasn’t, dear Lord, not in the way a true friend should be. Now you’re my very best friend, dear Lord, and it is you I desire to be like, to please, honor, love, worship, bring joy to, and glorify. Help me to be the daughter and servant you created me to be. Not being cloned as though all your children are supposed to be perfect replicas of each other. But simply the woman you desire me to be. Oh, Father, I pray this for all my readers too. Help us to grow in your blessed image, AMEN!
