Do not look to the world, sweet child. I want you to look to me. I am the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6), sweet one. Why would I have you look anywhere else? When you look to the world, you miss your opportunity to enjoy the benefits of being intimate with me.
Why do you look away when I ask you to come away (Son. 2:13) with me? You are afraid that you will miss out on something the world has to offer. But nothing compares with what I have to offer you. You can look at me from a distance, and I allow you to do this if this is your desire. But my desire is not this at all. My desire is for you to be right here where I am, intimately and infinitely wrapped up in me. Do you see now? Your focus is back on me, and this is my heart’s desire for you. You have come back to me, and in this you have found what I have wanted to give to you. Myself. I want you to know me. I want you to spend time with me. I want you to wake up knowing that I am your Lord, your King, your redeemer, your healer, your Father, your love, your Savior, the restorer of your soul. I want you to go through your day rejoicing that you are mine. Come now, sweet one, and rest in the hold I have on you. Know this, child. I am here for you. I am the answer you seek. I have what you need; I also have what you have desired. Learn of me (Mt. 11:29), as I tell you in my Word. Seek me.
Col 3:2 “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Pro 8:17 “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”
Father, please forgive my sins and cleanse me of unrighteousness. I have fallen so often, so much, and I can’t imagine you still have mercy left for me. But you do. Please have mercy upon me, my dear God. My Lord. My Savior. My King. My sweet Father. My dear brother, Jesus. What would I do without you? That you would desire me is beyond my comprehension, yet you do. You continue to love me, to teach me, to reach into my heart and hold me. Oh Lord, how can I ever express how grateful I am to call you Lord. Please, Father, help me. Heal me. Make me whole. Make me fit for your use. I love you, I love you, my God. Amen.
All characters are very convincing and Bradley Cooper’s intelligent Eddie is so entertaining, convincing and endearing that you eventually love the character and rejoice every time he has to explain anything to the normal humans.
