Desperate 4 Love

There is a grave danger when we are desperate for love, and I know from the Bible, from personal experience, and from ministering to people who have been desperate for love.

In my decades of brokenness and due to the sin of others toward me and very much due to my own sin, I was desperate to be loved. I craved love, validation, acceptance, approval, attention, and affirmation. The result was I ended up with dangerous people in dangerous places in dangerous situations doing dangerous things. Even when outright danger was not involved, there was a lack of goodness, health, wisdom, and godliness. What I discovered in retrospect was tons of sin against God and being way off the path and far from the purpose He had for my life.

In His love and mercy, He delivered me from it all, saved me from my sins, gave me a forever relationship with Himself, and began to transform me over time into the woman of God He created me to be. Complete and fully satisfied and amazingly blessed IN HIS LOVE so much so that all the desperation is gone and I am now able and excited to love Him with all my heart and others as myself and to live to love, worship, and serve Him and fulfill the purpose He has for my life.

The Bible makes clear what is sin and what is right and honoring to the Lord. The Lord commands His followers to forsake all for Him, to love Him with all our hearts and to love others as ourselves. He calls us to DENY SELF and to LIVE FOR HIM and in so doing to LOVE & SERVE HIM & OTHERS not to love and serve self! When we are desperate for love and find ourselves doing desperate, dangerous, selfish, and self-centered things to get that love, we are SINNING AGAINST GOD! We need to repent and turn to Him and receive HIS LOVE for ourselves and HIS LOVE to give to others!

In my streets ministry work and one-on-one ministry in person, by phone, and by email, I am continually meeting people who are mired in sin because they as I was for so long are desperate for love. Instead of repenting and turning to Christ as Lord and receiving and enjoying and sharing with others HIS LOVE, they are running around trying to please themselves and satisfy themselves and heal themselves and comfort themselves, etc. by desperately searching for love whether it be from people, things, animals, anything or anyone at all but God.

Friend, God’s love is so amazingly wonderfully beautifully phenomenally awesome that when we put our trust in Jesus and truly live for Him according to His ways and no longer for ourselves according to our ways, we find ourselves so fulfilled IN HIS LOVE FOR US and OUR LOVE FOR HIM and OUR LOVE FOR OTHERS that there is no need for desperation to be loved. We are loved by the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Jesus forever God! And any love given to us by others is simply a beautiful blessing on top of the most fabulously fantastically excitingly thrillingly lovely and tender and forever blessing of all – CHRIST JESUS, a forever relationship with Him, and HIS LOVE FOREVERMORE! AMEN!

Father, thank you beyond description for teaching me this amazing lesson! I was so hopeless for so long it astounds me where you have taken me from brokenness beyond human hope and repair to be overflowing with your love and now being used day by day to help a world in dire need of you to believe in you, to follow you, and to know and pass along your spectacularly splendorous wondrous love to a world in desperate need of you and your love, Lord Jesus, thank you, thank you, thank you Lord amen! Please Father cause every person who reads this to believe in and follow you forevermore and to know and share your love with all the world around, AMEN!

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?…Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39

“We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5

“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16

“and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,” Rev. 1:5
