I told a beloved friend about a situation and my ears perked up when she warned me not to get distracted. I asked another friend to pray for me regarding this, and she made clear I shouldn’t get sidetracked.
Sidetracked. Distracted. The devil loves to bait and lure us away from focusing on the Lord, the Bible, and God’s will for our lives. When we get sidetracked, we are off God’s track. Off His path. The devil uses distractions to get us off track.
A train needs to stay on track to do what it needs to do and get where it needs to go. We need to stay on track with the Lord to fulfill His will for our lives. To do what God wants us to do and go where He wants us to go in life.
Don’t get sidetracked. Watch out for distractions. Do you need this message as much as I do? I definitely do!
Father, help us to stay on track with you. Forgive us for when we get distracted and sidetracked. Help us to stay on course. Help us day by day to seek and follow you. With how poor my attention span has become in my middle age, Father, I am so easily distracted. Not to mention in this age, there are endless distractions. Help me, Father, and help us all, to stay on the path of your righteousness. Help us to follow you, dear Lord! AMEN.
