Forever Honor

“No matter how I feel, I want to honor the Lord,” I told a sweet younger sister in the Lord.

I was feeling pretty wiped out from being on the road full-time for the Lord for several years, from my ministry work, from a long-time painful personal trial, from all the solititude that comes with God’s calling for me, and from a recent big loss. I was sad. Down. Frustrated. Discouraged. I was sharing my heart with my young friend.

For years, when I faced trials, I would be so self-consumed, self-pitying, bitter, hurt, angry, and prone to creating drama that the last thing in my heart would have been a longing to love, please, praise, worship, serve, obey, glorify, and honor God.

But the Lord has mercifully and patiently been transforming me over the years. By His grace and transforming power, I no longer want to live to please me. I want to live to love, please, and honor God – no matter my life’s circumstances and no matter how I feel.

I LOVE this verse which so encourages and inspires me:

“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15

No matter our life’s circumstances, and no matter our emotions in response to them, we can choose to learn to keep our hearts and eyes steadfast on the Lord, on His Word, on His will for us, and on adoring, loving, revering, worshiping, and honoring Him.

Honoring the Lord should not be conditioned on our circumstances and emotions but should be conditioned on the Lord! For He in His perfect love, holiness, righteousness, lordship, sovereignty, gloriousness, greatness, goodness, beauty, perfection, and magnificence is worthy of our love, praise, adoration, obedience, worship, service, and honor each and every day and forevermore!

“Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Timothy 1:17

Honor the Lord, friend, with all your heart! This moment, this day, tomorrow, and forever and ever, AMEN!
