God’s Comfort

0

I cross paths with people continually who need comfort. Some people have a circle of people in their lives and don’t have too much interaction outside of that circle. Given my life on the road for Jesus, and my ministry work to which I am called, I am ever meeting new people. Some I meet ever so briefly. Some remain in my life for years to come. One thing is constant. Always, always, always there are people hurting, broken, lost, sad, depressed, going through unbelievable tragedies, wounded, sick, dying, suicidal, hooked on drugs, in and out of prison, homeless, hungry, poor, and on and on. Over and again I meet people who need comfort.

And I have long since learned that all the human comfort in the world doesn’t come close to the awesomely amazing loving tender gentle marvelous healing and blessed comfort of “the God of all comfort” who comforts us so wonderfully and satisfyingly and abundantly that we are left with comfort enough to give unto others in need of comfort! Do you know the comfort of the Lord? Have you shared it with others in need? Are you thankful to God for it? Have you told Him? I would imagine sharing His comfort with others in need of it is a way of telling God, Thank You Lord!

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 KJV
