Not even 6 am yet, and I was delighted to see the jubilant joy of my senior special needs ministry dogs as they excitedly waited for me to set their big black Kong toys down on the floor for them which I had just filled with part of their daily delicious supplement and yummy gooey peanut butter. Then something powerful, tragic, and convicting dawned on me.
My beloved paralyzed dog Miss Mercy hit by likely a truck years ago and Grace dumped at a gas station and hit by two cars long ago show more love, joy, thanksgiving, and excitement over their special morning treats which last for about 10 minutes than I and lots of other believers in the Lord Jesus Christ show ongoing love, joy, thanksgiving, and excitement to and about the Lord, our forever relationship with Him, and His endless blessings.
How delighted I was to see the love, joy, thanksgiving, and excitement of my sweet dogs in response to my giving them something so short-lived to enjoy. I can’t imagine how much delight we must bring the Lord when we continually show Him love, joy, thanksgiving, and excitement over His giving us now and forever with Him – and how much we must break His heart when we do not.
Today, and every day, let us strive to bless the Lord with love, joy, thanksgiving, excitement, praise, honor, obedience, service, pleasure, and glory of which He is worthy now and forevermore, AMEN! Hallelujah! Amen, amen, amen!
“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” Philippians 4:4 NKJV
