I sincerely believe if we looked back at our lives and could see with perfect clarity all the bad, harm, hurt, darkness, evil, accidents, troubles, losses, etc. the Lord protected us from, we would be in awe and want to thank Him forever. Does this mean we never go through hard stuff? No! Jesus makes clear we WILL go through tribulations in this life, but that His followers can rejoice that we will be with Him forever and one day be in a place with no more pain, tears, losses, tragedies, sicknesses, etc.
In the meantime, as hard as our lives may be at times, if we would only realize how much God does protect us from on this earth, I do believe we would be humbled and astounded beyond measure.
The biggest thing the Lord protects us from when we repent and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and in His death and resurrection and truly turn our lives over to God and His ways is from His wrath and death, hell, and the lake of fire which is the final destination of those who do not turn their lives over to the Lord. Yes, God protects us from really little things, and in-between things, and the biggest thing He protects His followers from is eternal damnation and hellfire. When was the last time you stopped everything you were doing to simply and joyfully thank God for His protection?
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 KJV
