God’s Great Commandment is for us to love Him with all our hearts and others as ourselves, and His so-called Great Commission is for Christ’s followers to go out and spread the Gospel (Good News) message around the world. In our love for Him and our love for others, we are to tell people Jesus Christ is Lord, that He died on the cross to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead, and that the only way to receiving His forgiveness and everlasting life with Him instead of forever in hell and the lake of fire in forever torment is through believing in Him as Lord and in His death and resurrection and turning from our sins to God and His ways and henceforth living for Him and no longer for ourselves (2 Cor. 5:15).
Loving the Lord, loving others, and spreading the Good News message is crucial in our obedience to Christ, but this is not all. We are also to pray for, encourage, help, and teach believers in the Lord Jesus Christ how to humbly, lovingly, reverently, honorably, devotedly follow the Lord day by day.
Turn from your sins. Believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. Believe in His death and resurrection. Commit your life to God and His ways. Receive God’s forgiveness and everlasting life. Be filled with God’s Holy Spirit and follow Him day by day by being led by His Holy Spirit according to God’s ways as He teaches us in the Bible. Then spread the Good News to others and help others to believe in Him and to faithfully follow Him.
Father, please bring to repentance and save any of my precious readers who need your salvation! For those who are already saved, dear Lord, please prick their hearts to help spread the Gospel message far and wide. And please, oh Lord, don’t let any of us neglect the vitally important part of your commission to love, help, pray for, and encourage your followers to FOLLOW YOU AND YOUR TEACHINGS as you by your Spirit through your Word teach us to live according to your blessed ways. Let us bring you praise, honor, and glory now and forever, AMEN!
“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Mt. 32:37-40
“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 28:16-20
“and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Cor. 5:15
