I Don’t Like Your Answer God

Sometimes I pray to God for wisdom and direction. Then He answers. And plain and simple I do not like His answer. If the truth be told, I would like God to change His mind. I figure if I wait around a little while, He will come up with a different answer. Or maybe I can convince Him why what I think is best. Or He will simply say to me to never mind what He is telling me to do. That I should just go ahead and choose my own way. Does any of this sound familiar?

I confess for a really long time deep down in my heart I decided I was in charge of my own life. Like I was a little lord. Like my life belonged to me. Like God was just there to turn to if I needed something. Or to ask for His direction but when all was said and done everything was truly up to me.

After all, in my foolish prideful mind I arrogantly thought well Jesus Christ was only Lord. Only God. Only Savior. The one who died on the cross and was raised from the dead so I could have a relationship with God the Father and then live my life exactly as I intended. Because after all, I was important. Oh, how wrong, wrong, how dreadfully wrong I was with my attitude.

God has changed all that. His Holy Spirit through reading of the Bible brought me to THE TRUTH. Jesus Christ is Lord forever. I am nothing absolutely nothing without Him. This life is not mine. It is His. I am His.

I am not in charge. He will reign forever. And, yes, sure, I can pick and choose how to live. But if I live in rebellion against God almighty, I will pay consequences beyond imagination both here on earth and for eternity.

God woke me up. I live by THE TRUTH now. I belong to Jesus. He is my Lord. I live for Him. In obedience to God.

And, quite frankly, I would not have it any other way. There is NOTHING and NOBODY more glorious in the universe than Jesus. And NOTHING more beautiful than having an intimate forever relationship with Him which goes hand in hand with a life lived in total submission to and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ!

Please, friend, live for Jesus. Forever and ever, live in humble and reverent obedience to the Lord God almighty! Hallelujah, praise be to the Lord, AMEN!
