I Want Vengeance!

Ever desperately wanted to get back at someone for something that person did? Ever felt vengeance was the only way? That there was no way you could possibly hold back from giving someone what you felt that person deserved for what that person had done? Feeling that way right now? Well, I have news for you!

Vengeance does not belong to you! Vengeance belongs to the Lord God almighty! If the person does not repent and turn to Jesus Christ as Lord and seek the Lord’s forgiveness, it is up to God to deal with that person as He chooses in the way of consequences for that person’s sin.

It is not your job to seek vengeance! In fact, you and I have an altogether different job when someone causes us hurt and harm. And it is a far cry from vengeance!

God commands us to love, bless, do good, and pray for our enemies. And God commands us to forgive those who cause us hurt.

If you are feeling vengeful, turn to Jesus! Cry out to God in prayer! Seek His love and strength to do what is right in His eyes! Get rid of the vengeful thoughts and feelings! Obey the Lord! Do what He tells us to do in the Bible! Amen!

“”And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”” Mark 11:25-26 NKJV

“Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord. Therefore “IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM; IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP COALS OF FIRE ON HIS HEAD.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:17-21 NKJV

“”You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matthew 5:43-45 NKJV
