I Will NOT Do This!

0

I had just come in from taking my sweet special needs ministry dogs to the beach when I thought about a referral someone on the beach had given me and how I was now willing to consider this option though in weeks past I had decided I would absolutely NOT do this. I saw in retrospect I had prayed about my need but resolved in my heart right from the start that I would NOT do God’s will if it did not line up with my will. With what I felt would be best for me. I realized due to some past yucky experiences, I did not trust God in this area of my life. Never mind He had lovingly led me through the yucky stuff and was and is comforting me through the aftermath of it.

I simply without even consciously doing so had decided to lord it over this part of my life. I would be a little god in charge of and in control of this matter. Which I realized when God illuminated all this in my heart was first and foremost sin, rooted in fear, worry, and pride, and second of all was ridiculous because God always knows and does what is best. Bottom line, I needed to repent and put my trust in God with the matter and be willing to do anything He wanted me to do. In loving obedience to Him.

We are not to lord it over our lives. We are to surrender ourselves daily to the lordship of Jesus Christ. We are to yield ourselves to the will, leading, direction, and wisdom of the Holy Spirit of God. We are to live in obedience to God almighty.

If you find yourself thinking and/or deciding, “I will not do this!”, I encourage you to turn to the Lord, put your trust in Him, and seek and obey His will for you. Let us be willing to do whatever God’s will is for one reason above all else. Jesus Christ is Lord forevermore! Amen!

“For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me.” Psalms 31:3 NKJV

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” Psalms 32:8 NKJV

Please note while the ideal is to read Bible verses in their full context in the Bible, I sometimes am led to use verses not because of their context per se but because of the message conveyed through them. In this case, the verses I believe God led me to simply show from the perspective of God and the perspective of a follower of God how we are to be wholly and humbly submitted to the Lord! Amen!
