“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”” Mt. 32:37-40

When a man in the park where I’m so blessed regularly to do ministry work shared with me how he lovingly, carefully, compassionately, gently rescued a butterfly in the middle of the street and carried it tenderly to safety, I thought of how God’s greatest commands are to love Him with all our hearts and to love others as ourselves. And how we need to take such great care in loving one another as that man took care in helping the butterfly.

Friend, I see brokenness everywhere these days in my ministry work. And if there’s anything that stands out, it’s this. So many people worldwide have their backs turned on the Lord Jesus Christ and are doing anything but loving one another. Even those who profess to believe in Christ as Lord, so many are not loving the way we are commanded to love – not Christ neither others.

Imagine the lovingkindness of a man who went to such lengths to rescue a beautiful butterfly and bring it to safety. Imagine what this world would look like if we would demonstrate such lovingkindness when it comes to others.

For the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, LET US LOVE!
