Dear friend,

Just when I felt I might be on the verge of making a big ministry decision, the Spirit of God who lives inside His followers and leads us through our lives day by day in His ways and in His will for His glory alone intervened. He stopped me. He turned me around to face Himself, to seek Him so I would go forward following Him not my flesh. And He showed me the decision I wanted to make was based on ease and comfort.

That regardless of the decision I ultimately made, I needed to follow Him not me. He has me in a season right now of reminding me over and again that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead to pay our sin penalty so we would turn from our sins to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives. Saved from death, hell, and the lake of fire which we all deserve because we’re all sinners. And forgiven and given an everlasting relationship with Himself. A relationship in which now and forever we LIVE FOR JESUS CHRIST AS LORD FOREVERMORE! Not for ourselves!

May my writing be used by God to encourage you to live your life utterly and everlastingly for Jesus the Christ!

With love in His most magnificent mighty name,

Two Big Decisions

“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34:1

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,” Psalm 3:5

A beloved friend told me one day about two big decisions she made that morning.

The biggest decision we can ever make in our lives is to turn from our sins and believe Jesus Christ is Lord and died on the cross to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead whereby we put our faith in Him as Lord and truly devote our lives to God and His ways. Jesus is the ONLY way to being forgiven by God and being given an everlasting relationship with Him instead of spending eternity in hell and the lake of fire in forever torment away from God.

But this is but the beginning. Life is full of decisions, isn’t it? Like the exceedingly important ones my friend made that day.

She hadn’t been having a very good morning. That’s when she decided this:

1. To praise God no matter what. Specifically, regardless of how she felt!
2. To trust God no matter what. Specifically, regardless of how she felt!

Are you feeling as convicted reading this as I am writing it? I needed that reminder that day. And every day. Including today. No matter what we’re going through, every day we should make the decision to praise the Lord and to trust in Him. No matter what. No matter how we feel.

Will you make this decision with me today? Let us praise Him! Let us trust Him! No matter what! No matter how we feel!

365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book the Lord has led me to publish piece by piece even as I’m writing it rather than waiting until it’s in print to share it. Please join me & be blessed as I write my latest book…!

Blessing #34

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”” John 16:33

No matter how hard this life can be, no matter our trials, no matter our troubles, no matter our tribulations, no matter our hurdles, obstacles, no matter the heights and depths of our hurts, hardships, and pains, of our wounds and bruises, of our sicknesses and tragedies, of it all, all of which people all around the world face as part of the stories of their lives, the Lord Jesus Christ in the verse above tells us we can find PEACE IN HIM. That we can FIND CHEER because He has OVERCOME THE WORLD. Peace in circumstances so awful, so overwhelming, so tragic, so debilitating, so terrible we don’t even know how we’ll make it through sometimes? NO! Not peace in the circumstances. Peace in Jesus! In Him! In His love! In His presence! In faith in Him! In His promises! In His mercy! In His healing! In His comfort! In His hope!

In the hope that those of us who believe in and follow Him shall be with Him forever! Just like He says, HE HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD! And all those who turn from our sins and believe in Him as Lord, genuinely surrendering our lives to Christ and God’s ways, we are promised EVERLASTING LIFE WITH JESUS! And one day there will be NO MORE TRIALS, TRIBULATIONS, NO MORE HARDSHIP AT ALL! But even before that time comes, we can find peace right here on this earth. Peace when we place our hearts in Christ’s loving hands. Peace when we place our focus on His awesomeness. Peace when we open the Bible and start reading it. Peace when we meditate on God our Father and His love for us. Peace in the Lord! Yes, peace! Oh hallelujah, bless the Lord for the peace we can have in Him – no matter what. Peace in Jesus the Christ, AMEN!

From Loneliness to Love

“You’re probably lonely,” a loved one essentially told me after I described how hard my latest location on the road for Jesus has been.

“Oh, I’m never lonely,” I basically replied.

Imagine. God sends me to places I’ve never been in my life. Where I know nobody. Where even when I start doing my streets ministry work, I don’t always end up with people with whom He calls me to fellowship. Where I sometimes spend much time in solitude praying, seeking Him, writing, caring for my ministry’s special needs doggies, trying to unwind, when I’m not out doing streets ministry. How could I possibly not be lonely? Especially when for decades I was so lonely that even friendships, relationships with men, even marriages, none of it took away the loneliness.

I am not lonely because I belong to the Lord Jesus Christ. Because I am His entirely. Because I have such a captivating, consuming, passionate, beautiful, ever-growing intimate relationship with Christ as my Lord, Father, healer, redeemer, Savior, and so very much more that I don’t have any room for loneliness. His love so fills me that the old ache, the old pain, the old desperate longing to be loved and to love another is gone.

Do I sometimes wish I spent more time with people? I am a people person. I love people! Of course. Do I sometimes feel alone? Of course.

But lonely? Loneliness has been replaced with love. God’s love. His forever awesomely amazingly wonderfully beautiful forever love! And this love never fails. It never dulls. It never falls short. It never weakens. It never is insufficient. It never is unsatisfying. It is always God’s perfect heavenly everlasting love!

Do you know His love like this? Give your life utterly to the Lord Jesus Christ. Turn from your sins and turn to Him. Believe He died for you and was raised from the dead. Devote your life utterly to Christ. Follow Him day by day. Read the Bible daily and spend time in the presence of God regularly. Know the Lord. Obey the Lord. Grow in the Lord. Tell others of the Lord. Experience Jesus. Enjoy Jesus. And may the love you enjoy in Christ be seen by others that more and more people through you will be drawn to Christ as Lord forever, AMEN!

I Am So Uncomfortable!

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Mt. 16:24-25

Wouldn’t you think given how exceedingly uncomfortable I am in my current location in this season of being on the road for Jesus that God would simply tell me to pack up my bags in the next few minutes, load up the ministry special needs doggies in the car, and take off for somewhere really comfortable, cozy, easy, secure, happy, fun, and filled with love and loved ones and fellowship etc.?

Know what the Spirit of God spoke to my heart this very morning instead?

“Do not be in a hurry to leave. Instead, trust me. You will know when to go and where to go but the time is not now. Stay where you are. Yes, you are uncomfortable. This is part of forsaking all for me. Do not run. Wait.”

My goodness! Not what I wanted to hear! God wants me to stay in a place of discomfort rather than run and make my flesh comfy. He may lead me to my next destination later today. Or in six years. The timing is His. I belong to Him. So I will wait on Him.

One of the most fundamental aspects of serving Jesus in our everyday lives is being willing to die to self. To deny the flesh. To say no to what we want and yes to what God wants. Sometimes what we want is God’s will for us. Sometimes it’s anything but. And when it comes to comfort, God’s will isn’t always comfortable to our flesh. In fact, it can be exceedingly not!

Our modern day culture is so very much about comfort, isn’t it? It even seems the idea of serving Jesus in our everyday lives becomes about finding what we like, what makes us happy, what is comfortable for us, what fits into our schedules, what pleases us, what doesn’t involve risk, what brings us contentment, what is familiar, what brings us immediate fleshly rewards, etc.

But serving Jesus isn’t about culture. Serving Jesus is about Christ. And about following Him. No matter the price our flesh has to pay.

Jesus tells His followers to deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow Him. That self-denial is key to serving Jesus in a way that I believe truly brings God the glory, honor, and praise that belongs to Him.

Please don’t decide how to serve Jesus based on what makes you comfortable. Please base serving Him on His will for your life. When you yield yourself to the Lord, He will lead you and provide for you to enable you to walk in His will and His ways. Serving Him included.

Be willing to pay the price of discomfort to your flesh. But know the greatest reward of all is through faith in Christ and a life utterly devoted to Him being in His glorious forever almighty presence. And, while on this earth, as you faithfully humbly lovingly follow Him, drawing closer and closer to Him while He makes you more and more like Himself.

Glory to the Lord!
p.s. A few hours after writing this, a friend told me essentially she trusted the Lord to lead me and to bring me to what’s comfortable. Oh, if only following Jesus worked that way! But it doesn’t. And we all must remind each other not to base our life’s decisions on pleasing the flesh and making ourselves comfortable, but based on what pleases and honors and brings glory to God comfortable or not!

Praise the Lord, I am back to writing my Good News Daily. Still exhausted from my recent travels not to mention going through the waiting period to see how the Lord leads me forward. I am very uncomfortable in my current location combined with the not knowing how the Lord will lead me going forth. It’s a wonderful opportunity to practice walking by faith. Trusting in Jesus. Knowing all is well in Him. That God knows everything. That God will lead and provide as I continue seeking Him, waiting on Him, and following Him.

My flesh would give just about anything to go on a really long vacation in a really easy place close by to my loved ones without all the stress I face daily, but I don’t live for myself any longer. I live for Jesus, and He will give me the strength moment by moment to deny my flesh and to follow Him.

I remain in huge need of financial and physical support for the ministry, and I would ask you to please pray for me and the ministry however the Lord leads you.

With love in and through Him,
