latest LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA

I am totally blown away by the amount of brokenness I am seeing everywhere I turn from on the streets in my ministry work to the news to telephone conversations with friends and strangers to my own story and heartache due to the wrongdoing of others and on and on. I shouldn’t be surprised, of course, because the Lord forewarns us in the Bible these times were coming as a result of so much of this world turning its back to the Lord Jesus Christ and living for self, money, and pleasure instead (2 Tim. 3:1-9). How heartbreaking! How devastating! How depressing! How easy it would be to simply drown in the hurt and darkness of it all. But alas, this is not what the Lord desires, is it? Here are three nuggets of encouragement if you are sorrowful over all this as I am:

* May what we’re seeing in this world right now compel you to give your heart and life utterly to the Lord Jesus Christ and God’s ways as He teaches us in the Bible

* May you repent and humble and purify yourself continually as the Spirit of God who lives inside His followers leads you so that no matter what others are doing, you are doing right in the eyes of the Lord and are living in a manner pleasing and honoring to Him

* May you be diligent about spending time alone with Jesus and the Bible daily as you grow in your personal relationship with the Lord day by day, and may you also spend time day by day sharing the Gospel message and helping others to find and forever follow the Lord Jesus Christ

Let what we are seeing in this world right now fuel in us an ever-growing desire to love, honor, live for, and glorify the Lord and to help others to do the same!
