How will you be remembered? Have you ever thought about this? Honestly, I rarely think about it. But for some reason, this just came to mind. So I felt led to share with you on this topic.
No matter the details of your life’s story, will you be remembered when you are gone from this earth as someone who loved the Lord Jesus Christ, who lived for the Lord Jesus Christ, who glorified the Lord Jesus Christ? Or will you be remembered as someone with great worldly accomplishments, great worldly successes, great worldly pride and praise, great worldly wealth, great worldly pleasures and treasures, great worldly happiness?
Jesus’ followers aren’t called to live for self according to the world’s ways. We are called to live for Jesus according to His.
There is no greater legacy than to have lived on this earth for the Lord and to have helped build His Kingdom of forever followers, to have obeyed God’s greatest commands to love Him with all our hearts and others as ourselves, to use God’s gifts to us to bring glory to Him and to love, help, and bless others.
The world’s ways and pleasures are temporary. Jesus Christ is forever.
Is your greatest treasure Jesus, is your greatest desire to love and glorify God, and is your greatest hunger to honor and worship God for eternity?
May the Lord be your number one love, and may your greatest treasure be Him and forever with Him.
How will you be remembered? If you believe you’re off course, make the change. Live utterly for Christ! Forever! AMEN!
Some verses to bless and encourage you:
““Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Mt. 6:19-21
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4
