If there is anyone on this earth who has ever held on for dear life to everything and everyone she was supposed to let go, that was me. I was absolutely the worst at letting go for years upon years. Anything or anyone I was supposed to let go, forget about it. I was way too prideful, way too broken, way too sin-ridden, way too terrified, way too pleasure-driven, way too self-centered, way too self-pitying, etc. to let go. So I held on and held on and held on. Honestly, it’s still unbelievably hard for me to let go. But I have learned to let go when I need to IN THE STRENGTH OF GOD – in obedience to God. And I have learned – shockingly – that it’s best to TRUST IN THE LORD when He wants us to let go and to BE THANKFUL because His ways and will for us are ALWAYS BEST!
I am thankful He gives me the wisdom I need to know when to let something or someone go, I am thankful for His love, mercy, and patience with me, I am thankful for His perfect will for my life, and I am thankful He gives me all I need to live a godly life – including when it comes to obeying Him in letting go.
This verse below is a huge encouragement to me when it comes to obeying God, and I so hope God will use this message to help you let it ALL go when He tells you to LET GO! Amen!
“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3 KJV
