Love Songs

“I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” Psalms 104:33 KJV

Some people have bad singing voices. Mine isn’t just bad. It’s plain awful. It’s so awful in fact it almost hurts for me to hear my own voice. A childhood music teacher said I sing between keys. I believe she was being kind. I can’t even stay on a key at all not even an in-between one. But I made a decision when it comes to singing I want to share with you. I decided to start singing to the Lord when I am alone with Him, and with all my heart I want to encourage you to sing to Him.

Why? God loves singing when His children are singing to Him! The Bible reveals time and again how much God desires to be loved, praised, honored, worshiped, served, obeyed, magnified, exalted, glorified, and sung to!

But I wonder how many people good singing voices or not have restricted singing to God to an hour-long church service, a mid-week church gathering, singing along with Christian radio, etc. for those who sing to Him at all.

What if all around the world with pure hearts and great delight and true passion and great reverence more and more people would begin to sing to the Lord on an ongoing basis not just in gatherings of God’s people coming together but when we are spending time alone with Him or when we are with others outside the church building and any formal service?

Oh, what great delight I would imagine He would have. Will you consider doing this, friend? In your love for the Lord? Love and serve the Lord with all your heart, my friend. And if you are so led, and desire to please our Father in heaven, sing, sing, sing to the Lord, oh yes!

Father, create in us all a desire to love you exactly as you love to be loved – including when it comes to singing. I so doubt Lord you care about how our singing sounds in the world’s eyes! I so believe you care about our hearts for you – and that you enjoy when we sing from our hearts to you with joy and thanksgiving, with love and the blessedness of being your children and servants. Oh, God, cause us to sing for you! And may you be abundantly and blessedly delighted in our singing! Amen!

I usually don’t listen to worship music, and I know no songs by heart. Instead I sing little made-up songs essentially declaring my love for the Lord. Though my flesh really does NOT enjoy singing as singing has really never been of interest to me, my heart loves to sing to God because of how much I love Him and want to bless and thank Him. I also thoroughly enjoy the good feeling I get when I do something I believe pleases my Father in heaven, my Lord, my King, my Savior forever, the Lord! Will you sing to the Lord, friend? Oh, please, sing to the Lord!

Will you sing LOVE SONGS to the Lord? Please do!

“O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.” Psalms 105:1-2 KJV

“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.”
Psalms 98:4 KJV
