The Lord makes clear there is a season and time and purpose for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1), that He will give us wisdom when we ask for it and believe He will give it to us (James 1:5-8), that we are to obey Him if we love Him (John 14:15), that He will give us the strength to do what He calls us to do (Phil. 4:13), that we are to live for Him not for self (2 Cor. 5:15), that we will have trials (1 Peter 4:12) and tribulations (John 16:33) in this life, that His Holy Spirit will give His children love (Romans 5:5), help (John 15:26 NKJV), and comfort (John 16:7), and that He is with His children (Matthew 1:23). With these promises in mind, I ask you this question that is strong on my heart as I write this.
Is it time to walk away from something, someone, some things, and/or some people? Is the Lord telling you it is time to walk away? Time to let go? Time to move on? Time to press on? Time to walk forward? Time to say goodbye? Time for a new season? Time for closure? Time to follow His Holy Spirit as He leads you forth?
If you have sought the Lord, prayed, read the Bible, listened for His Holy Spirit speaking to your heart, sought and heard counsel from His followers if/as He has led you, and are clear it is time, then put your trust in the Lord and walk away.
Sometimes God calls us to walk away because He is leading us out of something bad, ungodly, unrighteous, unholy, wrong, unhealthy, dangerous, unsafe, not producing anything good, dead, over, etc. Other times God calls us to walk away because whatever or whomever He called us to for a season He desires to replace with new opportunities, new relationships, new growth, testing, refining, a time of rest, whatever it is He has ordained for us in the next season of our lives.
No matter God’s will, no matter His reasons, no matter His plans and purpose, no matter His timing, Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings and we are to humble ourselves and obey Him and walk away when He calls us to walk on.
Time to walk away? Seek the Lord, friend, seek, hear, and obey Him for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, AMEN!
Those who LOVE the Lord are to OBEY the Lord! Let us do just that!
