Need Comfort?

Some people have hard stories. Some have really hard stories. Some people have stories so hard it’s hard to imagine how they can get through a day of their lives. I used to think I had such an incredibly hard personal story, and truthfully many would agree that I do. But I have since learned people all around the world have stories so much harder than my own story. My hardness is nothing compared with theirs. Everyone has a story, and everyone in one way or another has struggles along the way. And I can’t imagine there is anyone who makes it through this life without needing comfort at one time or another as they go through the trials of this life. Do you need comfort now?

I used to look for comfort in all sorts of places and from all sorts of people and finally found the greatest comfort of all. The comfort of God almighty whose “love never fails” (1 Cor. 13:8 NKJV), whose “mercy endures forever” (1 Chron. 16:34 NKJV), and who Himself is the “God of all comfort” (2 Cor. 1:3 NKJV). Who comforts us in our hard times whereby not only are we comforted. But we can take the comfort He gives us and comfort others.

Oh, how glorious is God, how wonderful is the Lord, how marvelous is Jesus, how astoundingly lovely and beautiful is our Father who is in heaven who comforts us when we open our hearts and arms wide to receive the love and comfort, the mercy and healing, the kindness and grace, the wisdom and rest, the peace and joy, the sweetness and tenderness, the hope He bestows upon us in His love for His children.

Oh, you who need comfort, know this. To receive what God has for us, we must turn to God. Turn, turn, turn to the Lord. Turn from your sins, believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, believe in His death and resurrection, turn to God and His ways, receive His forgiveness and eternal life with Him instead of hell and the lake of fire in forever torment apart from Him, and receive all His bountiful beautiful blessings – comfort included, AMEN!

I have received “comfort” from all sorts of people and places, and in one way or another, to one degree or another, I was helped. But there is no comfort like the comfort of God almighty. And day or night, in our time on this earth, God is available to His children for us to pour out our hearts to Him and for us to receive His love and His comfort, hallelujah, AMEN!

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 KJV

Oh, God, comfort your children who need your comfort! Comfort us, oh Lord! Show us your love and your glory! Give us your comfort! Help us! Heal us! Love us, oh God! Help us to rest in you, dear Father, oh how we need you, AMEN! Thank you Lord, thank you Lord, thank you Lord, AMEN!
