“Therefore if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
If you are in Christ, you are a new creature, right? If old things are passed away, then all things are become new, right? As I lay prostrate on the floor today before the Lord, I repented for holding onto old things. A friend once told me, “If you turn something over and don’t let go, you end up upside down.” Suffice it to say the Lord might have made me a new creature when I invited Him into my heart to be my Lord, but in so many ways I have not chosen to live as one. I have lived much of my life upside down for refusing to let go. Even as the Lord extended to me His love and mercy, His great plan for my life, His inheritance in heaven and on earth, I chose instead to live an old life as a new creature. I cannot think of a better way to begin a new year than to actually live as the new creature I am. Then, I am quite certain, all things will truly become new. New year, new life. The choice is mine. New year, new life. The choice is yours, too. Choose life.
