Quit Banging on the Door!

Ever banged really hard on a door desperately trying to get someone to let you in? Maybe you were anxious, angry, impatient, frustrated, exasperated, etc. No matter how you felt, you were resolved to not stop banging until someone let you in to where you were certain you needed to go to do what you were convinced you needed to do with the people you were adamant you needed to see. You had everything figured out in your mind. Exactly how everything would unfold. And how you would accomplish totally what you felt you needed to get done. But there was only one problem. No matter how hard you banged, nothing happened. The door stayed firmly shut.

Friend, God has a plan and purpose for our lives. We are to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to live for Him and to follow Him and to be faithful in seeking the Lord in prayer, hearing the Lord, and obeying the Lord according to HIS WILL for His glory.

But sometimes instead of surrendering ourselves to the rule and reign of Jesus and yielding ourselves to God’s will, we bang on doors and try to force our own plans and purposes and agendas and attempt to control everything so that we rule and reign like little lords over our own lives. Meanwhile we just keep on banging because we can’t even get those doors to open all the while we have our backs turned to the Lord who desires to lead us elsewhere that we might fulfill His perfect will for us.

If you’ve been banging on doors trying to go places and do things and be with people and accomplish stuff etc. that is NOT God’s will, stop banging, turn away from the doors you’re standing in front of, TURN TO JESUS, and surrender yourself to the lordship of Jesus and the perfect will of God for your life. AMEN!

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 NKJV (underlining added)

I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”” Psalms 40:8 NKJV (underlining added)

“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.” 1 Peter 4:1-2 NKJV
