I spend a fair amount of time on the telephone calling people I don’t know for one reason or another. Needing to place an order. Needing to ask about a delayed order. Needing help with a broken something or other. Needing to make an appointment. Needing to make a payment. Needing help in how to use something. Needing information regarding something. And the list goes on. For years, I have struggled with being impatient, upset, angry, prideful, judgmental, condemning, accusatory, cold, brittle, and rude. I have had much repenting and growing to do along the way and at long last by the grace of God am doing much better on the telephone with such calls. And with this change has come a realization that for years I have missed countless opportunities to love and serve people from around the world with whom I am on the telephone.
People worldwide are in desperate need of hearing the Gospel message about the Lord Jesus Christ being the only way to everlasting life with Him, seeing and experiencing the love of Christ through His followers, of receiving hope, encouragement, support, kindness, care, compassion, mercy, support, comfort, goodness, generosity, and prayer, and of receiving help in living for the Lord according to His ways day by day.
I can’t tell you how many opportunities I have had on the telephone when my heart and eyes are wide open to the leading of the Lord to talk to people about Him, to share the Gospel message, to love people, bless and encourage and pray for them, to point them to my ministry website and Good News Daily, and to tell them they can contact me when they are not at work.
Please, friend, don’t miss your opportunities to be a good and faithful servant of the Lord! Any interaction with people whether in person, by phone, by email, on the Internet, by letter, etc. can be an opportunity to love and serve people in the name of Christ for the glory of Christ, AMEN!
It takes love, mercy, wisdom, discernment, courage, strength, and boldness to love and serve strangers with whom we cross paths whether on the telephone, in person, by email, etc. THE LORD BY HIS HOLY SPIRIT WHO LIVES INSIDE HIS FOLLOWERS WILL LEAD US AND ENABLE US TO DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING NO MATTER HOW BIG NOR HOW SMALL HE GIVES US TO DO. Let us humble ourselves before Him, seek, hear, and obey Him, and give HIM the glory for all HE does through us! OH, yes!
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love in some Bible versions], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-2
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
