Thanksgiving for Others
The apostle Paul didn’t just pray to God for people, as I believe we are all called to do, but he THANKED GOD for people! What an inspiration! How often do we take the time to thank God for the people in our lives? And when we do, do we restrict our giving of thanks to God concerning our closest friends and family members? Or do we thank Him for ALL the people who come in and out of our lives?
If we truly took the time to thank God for all that we should thank Him for, I daresay forever would not be enough! Let us remember when it comes to Thanksgiving to thank God for the people He weaves in and out of our lives from the nice lady at the grocery store register to the person who cleans the toilets in our office building to the church pastor to the mean people God puts in our path to test us to absolutely anyone and everyone, oh, let us thank the Lord for the people in our lives!
Should this in fact include our spouses, children, grandchildren, parents, co-workers, employers, accountants, teachers, etc.? Absolutely! But may we never limit our giving of thanks when it comes to people nor when it comes to giving of thanks for absolutely anything at all. God is worthy of our Thanksgiving 24-7 – forevermore!
“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;” Ephesians 1:16
