“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.” Mt. 16:24-27……………
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 2 Cor. 5:10……………..
You are RESPONSIBLE for WHERE you will spend eternity and for HOW you will spend eternity.
WHERE will you spend eternity? A relationship now and forever in heaven with God is for those who REPENT of a lifestyle of sin and BELIEVE Jesus is Lord and the Son of God and died for their sins and was raised from the dead and whose BELIEF is EVIDENT in a FOREVER COMMITMENT TO CHRIST which MANIFESTS in a WAY OF LIFE of LIVING FOR CHRIST rather than for SELF. Those who repent and TRULY TURN to Christ as LORD of their lives, genuinely LIVING FOR HIM, are promised eternal life; those who DO NOT REPENT and DO NOT BELIEVE IN CHRIST AS LORD AND ACT ACCORDINGLY are destined for FOREVER IN FIERY TORMENT IN HELL AND THE LAKE OF FIRE APART FROM GOD EVERLASTINGLY.
HOW will you spend eternity? We will ALL stand before the Lord and have to give an account of our lives – even those who FOLLOW JESUS and who will be with Him forever. We will receive rewards – or not – based on HOW WE LIVED OUR LIVES FOR HIM! HOW we live our lives following Christ will determine HOW we will spend forever with Him.
Good works CANNOT earn us God’s love, forgiveness, and everlasting life, but GOOD WORKS SHOULD BE THE NORMAL ORDINARY EVERYDAY BYPRODUCT of God loving us, God forgiving us, and God giving us eternal life, and of our LOVE for Him and OBEDIENCE TO HIM and of our THANKSGIVING in return!
I am deeply afraid countless people either think they’re headed for heaven with God but are in truth destined for hell and the lake of fire because they don’t understand that TRUE FAITH IN CHRIST is evidenced in a LIFE DEVOTED TO CHRIST, and that even those who are destined for ETERNITY WITH GOD do not understand that WE ARE RESPONSBILE EACH AND EVERY DAY, EVERY BREATH WE TAKE, FOR THE REWARDS WE WILL – OR WILL NOT – RECEIVE WHEN WE STAND BEFORE THE LORD.
Friend, if you examine your heart and life this very day, WHERE and HOW will you spend forever? Is it time to repent and give your life to Christ as LORD? Is it time if you already have committed your life to Christ to RENEW and DEEPEN your commitment to Him? Is it time to make some changes in how you are living your everyday life? YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE. Now what will you do with this responsibility?
