If you are clear God wants you to let go of something or someone, why are you still holding on?
Please consider these words from the Lord Jesus Christ.
“”But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?” Luke 6:46 NKJV
There are three reasons I had tremendous trouble letting go in the past. First, I didn’t believe in God and didn’t know His will nor have the strength from God to let go. Second, when I did come to believe in Him, for years I was still living for self not for Him so I didn’t have the desperate desire I do now to love, please, honor, and obey Him. Third, once I surrendered and began to truly live for Him I wanted to let go to please Him but was still putting my hope, rest, trust, faith, expectation in myself, people, places, and things and therefore holding on for dear life to all of this instead of abiding in Him and holding onto Him for dear life.
Today, I am a totally devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and with all my heart encourage you to be the same. I no longer cling to this world as I once did. I cleave to the Lord!
Friend, may we all humble ourselves before God almighty, love, fear, honor, revere, praise, serve, worship, and glorify Him, and in so doing hold onto Him and let go of all He tells us to let go!
“and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15 NKJV
