One day during one of my little “conversations” with my special needs ministry dogs, these words tumbled unexpectedly from my mouth as though God were pouring a message through me for myself and for others:
“Let’s not worry about where we’re going,” I told paralyzed Miss Mercy and special needs Gracie. “Let’s be thankful for where we are.”
Of course my sweet precious dogs never worry. But we all have our sin struggles, and worry is one I need to continually fight against as I learn day by day to put my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Not only do we sin against God when we worry about the future. But sadly we are prone to not fully appreciate, experience, enjoy, and thank God for Himself, His love, His care, His goodness, His provision, and His endless blessings in the present.
Each day, let us replace worry with prayer and loving, trusting, praising, honoring, obeying, serving, worshiping, thanking, and glorifying God! And let us enjoy Him and His endless goodness!
“This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24 NKJV
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:6-8 NKJV
